Vets in Division Four

ballFylde Coast Veterans FC will start their first competitive season in Division Four of the Blackpool and Fylde Sunday Football Alliance.

It's a Division of 15 teams (at the moment) which means a total of 28 league matches plus at least 2 cup matches to play ove the coming season.

All the new teams have been thrown into our Division, plus there are one or two experienced lower division teams as well.

The League have given us 6 games in August, all four sundays plus 2 wednesday night matches. So, a healthy regime of fish, chicken, pasta and salad should be the order of the day for the next month, along with abstinence from alcohol and energy-sapping physical sessions with members of the opposite sex. You all understand? Right then...

With a bye in the First Round of the Gledhill Trophy, we now know that we will play Kingsfield or Stable Bar in Round Two on September 5th.

LFA Fines Go Up 25%

alimartinThe Football Association have increased 'admin charges' for fines from £8 to £10, a 25% increase. So, £10 for a yellow card and at least £30 for a red.

Quite a shock to most of our players, as the last time some of them had to pay a fine it was in shillings.

Hopefully the FA will use the increase to pay off that useless Italian in charge of our National team.

Under Club rules, fines for yellow and red cards are paid for by the player OR by the club - dependent on the vote held by the players after the match. Certain yellow and red cards may be deemed to be 'acceptable' by the players and in those cases the club will foot all or half of the bill. Any cases of over-the-top abuse to match officials WILL be paid by the player involved and MAY be doubled by a matching club fine and/or suspension.

Any red cards dished out to our players which are in our opinion unfair and unjust will be vigourously appealed against with the LFA.
